We like it when we come across something we’ve never seen before, and today we have something noticed in the photo above. This screen grab comes from the new “Lombardi” documentary which will be shown tonight at 8:00 p.m. (ET) on HBO. At a Packers practice from the 1960’s, the head coach is shown overseeing an off-camera drill in the beautiful Wisconsin summer weather. What we noticed are the two players in the background wearing what appears to be baseball catcher-type padding. We’ve never seen this in photos from the Lombardi-era before, nor have we ever seen it in nearly 25 years of attending modern-day Packers Training Camp.
