Today we embark on a journey back to 1969, when this fine historical publication was produced by the Green Bay Packers Alumni Association. The Lombardi years had ended, and in fact, the former coach was off to take the reigns of the Washington Redskins at the time. It was decided that a commemoration of 50 years of Packers football was needed, so this booklet was put together to spotlight the teams of yesteryear. The Green Bay teams of the Lambeau era don’t get much attention anymore, a casualty of the passing years and the current generations who have no link to that time. We’re as guilty as anyone, since our collection is heavily based from the late 1950’s onward to today. So, this is a good chance for us to shed some light on those teams from long ago. We’ll let the publication speak for itself, adding comments only where needed. Enjoy.
