Unlucky Lindy
They keep teasing us with the possible end of the current labor situation and the revival of N.F.L. football for the 2011 season. Hopefully, a deal can be reached tomorrow. Speaking of revival, above we see the man who in 1989 many fans thought was bringing the revival of the Packers’ franchise. We’re speaking of former head coach Lindy Infante, who was at the helm of the team from 1988 through 1991. In the ’89 campaign, the many thrilling finishes and a 10-6 record had the Green & Gold faithful anticipating great things to come. Alas, the next two seasons were disappointing and led to Infante’s dismissal by newly-hired GM Ron Wolf, who, of course, brought in coach Mike Holmgren. And those two really did revive the franchise.
