The Boys of ’81
After our lengthy presentation of the 1960 Green Bay Packers Yearbook, we’re going to back off and show some miscellaneous photos for a while, as we wait for a labor settlement and some real football in 2011. Above we have a portrait of the three keys to the Packers’ air attack in the early 1980’s — left to right, WR John Jefferson, QB Lynn Dickey, and WR James Lofton. When this photo was taken in 1981, Green Bay would go on to an 8-8 record and finish third in the N.F.C. Central. Jefferson caught 39 passes for 632 yards and 4 TD’s, while Lofton had 71 catches for 1,294 yards and 8 TD’s. For the year, Dickey was 204 out of 354, for 2,593 yards and 17 TD’s (with 15 INT’s). They weren’t champions, but they had a lot of fun.
