Today we will finish off our visit to 1962 and our spotlight on the “Salute to the Packers.” We start with a story on legendary Packer receiver Don Hutson and then-current halfback Paul Hornung filming television spots in Green Bay’s City Stadium.

A popular personality of the era at home games was former national baton champion Mary Jane Van Duyse of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.
Wilner Burke and his Packer Band continued to liven up the sideline during the Lombardi era. We believe the band survived until the late 80’s or early 90’s, when it was determined that there was no room for them on the field anymore.
Local boy Tom Pigeon got a one-page spotlight for his burgeoning collection of Packers and N.F.L. memorabilia. These days, he is retired and works as a tour guide in Lambeau Field.
