Game Program — September 25, 1966
If you had tickets to the September 25, 1966 game vs. the Los Angeles Rams, you could’ve picked up this game program and sat down before the event to thumb through it. Here are some of the things you would’ve read:
Here’s the Packers’ coaching staff for the 1966 season.
Don’t forget to send away for this great little booklet from Norelco. We’ve got a copy here in the Packerville archives that we will share someday in the future.
Paul Hornung and Boyd Dowler endorse a local sporting goods shop.
A nice Green Bay-themed ad.
These are the statistics for the first two games of the ’66 season. The Packers beat the Colts 24-3 in Milwaukee, and then won a close one with the Browns in Cleveland, 21-20.
A nice N.F.L.-themed ad with rival quarterback Johnny Unitas.
In the centerspread were these depth charts for each team on offense and defense.
They still had the World Champions 1965 team photo instead of the new 1966 version.
A nifty Coke ad showing the relatively few N.F.L. franchises at that time.
Who can forget the “Punt, Pass, and Kick” competition — which does, by the way, continue to this day.
Your Green Bay Packers game day roster.
Maybe after the game you could drive over to Appleton and dine at Max McGee & Fuzzy Thurston’s “Left Guard” restaurant.
Lastly, it’s a nice touch to have the Packers in action on the set in this Zenith ad on the back cover. Green Bay beat Los Angeles 24-13 in front of 50,861 fans in Lambeau Field on this 58-degree September day.
