2019 Training Camp — Practice 2

Day Two of 2019 Green Bay Packers Training Camp is in the books, and it was mixed with on-and-off rain showers throughout. But the team continued to practice instead of moving indoors. Let’s get to the photos.

Players enter the Ray Nitschke Field gate on Armed Forces Drive, while demolition continues on the old Brown County Arena, indicated by the dust rising. When the Packers ride kids’ bikes, this is the gate that they use.

New for today was the addition of these yellow strips of padding that the returners — WR Trevor Davis (#11) seen here — had to grip with their arms while fielding kicks. This is, we presume, to ensure that their arms do not get too wide and allow a fumble to slip through.

This was our view through much of practice, as the rain came and went.

Yes, future Hall of Fame QB’s with new large contracts still have to participate in the mundane aspects of professional football with all of the other players.

It’s stretching time again.

Everybody seemed happy today.

Even Matt LaFleur, the head coach.

Working on the basics.

G Billy Turner (#77), who has joined us from Washington.

Three teammates ganging up on C Corey Linsley (#63).

Even the officials need to hydrate.

Three QBs learning from The Master.

QB Aaron Rodgers (#12) taking a stroll along the sideline.

T Bryan Bulaga (#75) looks as though he might rather be someplace else.

QB Tim Boyle (#8) working at the essentials.

The defense getting the next play call.

An overall view during a time of rain showers.

QB Deshone Kizer (#9) making an adjustment at the line of scrimmage.

DE Rashan Gary (#52), the Packers’ first round pick and the No. 12 pick overall.

RB Corey Grant (#35), who just joined the team on Thursday, gets a chance to show what he can do. He previously played for Jacksonville.

A version of the number one offense in the huddle.

WR Jake Kumerow (#16) looks to have a complete, successful season.

QB Aaron Rodgers (#12) about to launch a 65-yard bomb.

GM Brian Gutekunst watches his players alone.

Hand-to-hand combat.

The team scrimmaging at the north end of Ray Nitschke Field.

CB Tramon Williams (#38) gets to cover two receivers.

CB Jaire Alexander (#23) talking shop with CB Tony Brown (#28).

WR Davante Adams (#17) makes a great grab.

CB Natrell Jamerson (#21) makes sure WR Jake Kumerow (#16) does not get any yardage after the catch.

Kumerow gets some praise from QB Aaron Rodgers (#12).

Fifth-round draft choice NT Kingsley Keke (#96) gets ready to rejoin the action.

CB Jaire Alexander (#23) comes to the near sideline.

There are two things going on here. WR Marques Valdez-Scantling (#83) is dancing to the incessant loud music that blares throughout practice, while QB Aaron Rodgers (#12) is trying to hear his helmet radio because of the same incessant loud music.

Things are getting tight in the pocket.

QB Aaron Rodgers (#12) taking a breather near the end of practice.

Head Coach Matt LaFleur addresses his team to end the day’s practice session.

That’s all, folks.

Just like on Thursday, the new tradition is for players’ families to come on the field when practice is over.
