2019 Training Camp — Practice 1

2019 Green Bay Packers Training Camp kicked off today, and the changes from the previous era were many and obvious. The most notable of which is the fact that loud music was played throughout the entire two-hour, eleven-minute practice. And the overall tempo was much quicker than we’ve been used to. Let’s get to the photos.

The sun rises over Green Bay, seen by the early birds — usually the same people each year.

The line starts to grow. For a 10:15 a.m. start time, the gates open at 8:45 a.m.

Packers fans come in all shapes, sizes, and levels of fervor.

The stands fill up quickly once the gates open.

A capacity crowd on the north end of the field as well.

G Cole Madison (#61) is in camp this year, after being selected in the 2018 draft, but taking the year off for personal reasons.

Offensive linemen always do their work right in front of the stands.

With the departure of DE Mike Daniels, the Packers are looking for big things from NT Kenny Clark (#97), and...

... DE Dean Lowry (#94), who received a nice contract extension and raise this week.

Some special teams work towards the end of practice.

The second placekicker in camp, K Sam Ficken (#7) gets a few chances. Returning K Mason Crosby (#2) is nursing a calf injury sustained in earlier workouts this spring.

QB Aaron Rodgers (#12) gets some grief from defensive players after he threw a red zone INT to LB Blake Martinez.

New this year was the number of players’ family members allowed on the field after practice was over.
