2025 Draft Event — Practice #8 Rained Out

If you follow our social media, you know that Monday’s public practice was moved indoors because of inclement weather. And that means the public can’t view it. This was the scene (above) at Ray Nitschke Field as we waited to see if things would clear up.

As the radar showed, that was not going to happen.

The only upside of being shut out of practice is that we were able to attend the 2025 Draft event in the Johnsonville tailgate Village.

Attending the event were members of the media, and also those government and other organizations that will play a part in planning and facilitating the huge event (240,000+ coming to Green Bay?!) in the spring of 2025.

Green Bay Packers Director of Public Affairs, Aaron Popkey, emceed the event.

On the podium were (left to right) Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy, Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Media members record the event.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell thanks Mark Murphy for his diligence in working with (and pestering) the league to bring the draft in Green Bay.

The event was intended to have NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, and Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy (and more?) bike down to practice with the players, but the weather took care of that.

So they took photos with the bikes (and others) instead.
