Chicago at Green Bay

Thursday night’s Packers vs. Bears game was a real barn-burner, if you like to see Green Bay crush their opponent. But, the price was several more injuries, so we’ll see what develops from here.

Walking to the stadium (above and below) in the evening sunlight.

Lambeau Field shortly after the gates opened at 5:25 p.m.

Some fans like to sit in their seats for two hours before the game starts.

Looking up at the press boxes along the western side of the stadium.

The jumbotron says it all.

Not a lot of warm-ups going on yet.

Grabbing some dinner on the stadium’s upper concourse.

Traditional pre-game meal: bratwurst, of course. Need you ask?

Checking out what’s going on along the Packers’ sideline before game time (above and below). We did get to say “Hi’ to former Packers’ QB Lynn Dickey (1976-85) as he walked in front of us.

Some Chicago Bears out on the field before a number of Packers came out.

Coming out of a tunnel in the Lambeau Field stands.

The game action is down by the north end zone — our seat location.

This play resulted in the WR Randall Cobb (#18) touchdown.

Bears on offense now. They had some offensive troubles last  night, wouldn’t you say? Yeah, that’s a shame.

We’re guessing that this is some sort of digital 360° camera or something.

And then the storm came. It has happened before in the preseason, but we’ve never had to clear the stands before in the regular season.

So, a whole lot of the 78,000 people ended up down in the lower concourse. It was a little tight (above and two below).

Heading back out into the stadium to resume the game once the storm passed.

The teams getting ready to play again after a 47-minute rain delay.

The offense gets going again...

... but rookie RB Jamaal Williams (#30) gets injured and needs attention.

QB Aaron Rodgers (#12) looking to pass southward.

This guy didn’t have much to cheer about all night.

Another touchdown? Sure, why not. Go ahead and throw it to WR Jordy Nelson (#87).

That’s it. The final score puts the Packers ahead by one game in the overall series between the two teams for the first time since the 1930’s.

A large group of Packers fans gathers by the NFL Network stage to chant “GO PACK GO!! GO PACK GO!! GO PACK GO!!

Heading back to the Packerville, U.S.A. world headquarters. With the delay, we didn’t get back until after midnight.
