Here’s a couple more things from a November 30, 1975 game program for the Packers-Bears meeting at Lambeau that year. It was Bart Starr’s first year as Green Bay’s head coach, and this two-page article summarizes his taking the job the previous Christmas Eve.
And we close with a full-page letter in the game program from coach Starr, asking Green Bay residents to offer his players off-season jobs so that they could stay in the area and train year-round. You won’t see anything like this again in a hundred million years. How many players these days need off-season jobs? Oh, we’d say zero.
