Since the Packers wore their 1929 “Throwback” uniforms today against San Francisco (and they won, 34-16), we thought we’d put up a couple of 1929 artifacts. Above, we have an image of the Green Bay Press-Gazette front page from Monday, December 9, 1929. It tells of the team’s 25-0 victory the previous day over the Chicago Bears, which cemented their 12-0-1 league record on the year, and their first national championship. There were no playoffs in those days — the team with the best record won the title.Sunday, December 05, 2010
