Great Pass Receiver: Don Hutson
Today’s post is one chapter from the book shown above — “Great Pass Receivers of the NFL” (1966; by Dave Anderson; Random House, New York). It’s from the “Punt, Pass, and Kick Library” series, and you can learn a lot more about that by going here. The chapter we are featuring is the second one in the book, about legendary Packers receiver Don Hutson. Enjoy.
Some of the other featured receivers in the book are not exactly household names today, but they had their moments in their respective eras.

The Green Bay Packers Collection
On October 20, the Friday before the Packers host the New Orleans Saints, the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame will host a photography tour of the new “Green Bay Packers Collection” at Lambeau Field. We reserved our spots for the event yesterday. The team’s official photographer, Evan Siegle will lead a tour of his work that is included.
The “Green Bay Packers Collection” was unveiled in July and displays more than 500 unique pieces of art, photos, and graphics that celebrate the legacy of the historic team. With artistic representations of memorable games, championships, players, coaches, fans, and community, the collection consists of one-of-a-kind pieces from sketches to photographs, mixed media, and oil on canvas.
The collection was produced and curated by Sports And The Arts, which has completed work with other pro sports franchises including Levi’s Stadium (San Francisco, Ca.), Yankee Stadium (New York, N.Y.), Marlins Park (Miami, Fla.), the Prudential Center (Newark, N.J.), the Anyway Center (Orlando, Fla.), as well as the 49ers’ training facility. Oh, and also that new stadium in Minneapolis, where they certainly don’t have artwork depicting any championships.
