Star of the Bayou State
Our look backwards for today centers on Hall of Fame FB Jim Taylor, seen here in his college uniform. Before he played football for the Packers from 1958-1966, Taylor was a star for Louisiana State University (L.S.U.) from 1954-1957. Some of the awards he received included a first team selection for All-S.E.C. in 1957, first-team selection as an All-American in 1957, and M.V.P. in the 1958 Senior Bowl. His play at L.S.U. resulted in his being picked in the second round (15th overall) in the 1958 N.F.L. Draft. And the rest is history.
