2019 Training Camp — Practice 6

Another nice, low-humidity day at Ray Nitschke Field for Practice #6 of Packers Camp. We had the first fight, first player told to sit out the rest of practice, and more.

The special teams starting out early with some punt team work.

WR Geronimo Allison (#81) joined those fielding punts today. He realizes he needs to be stretched out to do so.

WR J’mon Moore (#82) certainly will not get too cool during practice. Perhaps he just really likes yellow.

Wouldn’t this coach be surprised if they just nailed him?

More coaches facing off against players in full pads.

CB Kabion Ento (#48) shows his agility in a “catch the bouncing ball” drill.

Here, coaches wearing red boxing gloves try to punch the ball out.

No. 2 and No. 1, respectively.

WR Teo Redding (#88) making a picturesque catch.

Two receivers and a fullback heading off in different directions.

LB Blake Martinez (#50) collars RB Dexter Williams (#22).

QB Aaron Rodgers (#12) directing things at the line of scrimmage.

RB Tra Carson (#32) advances behind the blocking of T Gernhard de Beer (#72).

We’ve had our first fight of Training Camp. From Rob Demovsky at ESPN, “If Matt LaFleur hadn't made it clear before that he doesn't want any full tackling at practice, he has now. He essentially threw safety Josh Jones out of practice Wednesday after Jones didn't stop with a thud on running back Tra Carson. Carson might have been guilty of initiating it when he clearly had no intention of backing down. After the play, the two had to be separated, although it didn't turn into a full-blown fight. Jones, who was not available for comment after practice, watched the final portion of the workout from the sideline.”

It was mainly a shouting and shoving match, and even QB Aaron Rodgers (#12) came over to try and cool things down. He was rewarded with an elbow from CB Jaire Alexander (#23), which drew a loud exclamation from the crowd.

As things get back to normal, TE Jimmy Graham (#80) makes a reception and figures out how to elude LB Oren Burks (#42).

Sixth-round draft pick (No. 185 overall) CB Ka’dar Hollman (#29) sets his focus on the receiver opposite him.

As mentioned earlier, CB Josh Jones (#24) was told by Coach Matt LaFleur to sit out the rest of practice. Veteran LB Preston Smith (#91) came over to offer some words of advice.

An overall view of scrimmaging taking place,.

QB Aaron Rodgers (#12) may have been sacked by DE Montravius Adams (#90) if he hadn’t got rid of the ball.

RB Tra Carson (#32) is getting more action, with both RB Aaron Jones (#33) and RB Jamaal Williams (#30) out with hamstring issues.

A running back is stopped cold by what is considered “tackling” in Training Camp.

FS Adrian Amos (#31) re-limbers up while practice is going on.

A bunch of guys just hitting each other.

WR Jake Kumerow (#16) following his blockers after a reception.

RB Aaron Jones (#33) and RB Jamaal Williams (#30) out with hamstring issues.

QB Aaron Rodgers (#12) and Coach Matt LaFleur going over the finer points of scrimmaging.

WR Geronimo Allison (#81) in the process of going down after making a catch.

It was another beautiful day in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The punting unit getting some reps.

Both DE Rashan Gary (#52) and LB Za’Darius Smith (#55) being kept away from QB Aaron Rodgers (#12).

The four gentlemen in this photo represent a lot of money being paid out by the Packers.

QB Tim Boyle (#8) gets a chance in the final two-minute drill, in which he led the team down the field to score a field goal.

Coach Matt LaFleur gives a post-practice message to his players.
