An Unfortunate Situation

Well, we all know that it can happen at any time to any of the players. But you sure hope it doesn’t happen to one of your top players. The Packers must now embark on the 2015 NFL campaign without the services of WR Jordy Nelson, due to his ACL injury sustained in the second preseason game in Pittsburgh on Sunday. How the offense will adjust, and who will come to the forefront, is yet to be seen. One more thought... reducing the number of preseason games would not have had any impact on this situation. Would it be any better if it happened in the first game of the regular season? The injury could’ve happened on any play during Training Camp as well. It’s just rotten luck, that’s all.

Titletown District Plan Unveiled

We had hoped that they might do it at the Shareholders’ Meeting on July 28th, but today the Green Bay Packers unveiled their initial plans for the Titletown District. What is that, you ask? Well, the team has been buying up land around Lambeau Field to expand their stadium “footprint” where they can earn revenue that will not have to be shared with the other 31 teams. The model is based on Patriot Place at Gillette Stadium — home of the NFL champion New England Patriots, which we reported on back in March. You can read that here.

To read the details of the Titletown District that were presented today, please go here and here. The photos shown here were supplied by the Packers at today’s 11:45 a.m. press conference.
