Hopefully, No Mud...

Since we’ll be attending the Packers-Browns preseason game on Thursday night, we hope it doesn’t have the same field conditions as in today’s historical photo. This is, of course, from the Packers-Browns 1965 NFL Championship game on January 1, 1966. There won’t be snow, but we trust there won’t be rain to turn things into a quagmire. NFL preseason games have become so meaningless that one doesn’t need inclement weather to add to the experience. And whoever scheduled this game and our next game for Thursday nights couldn’t have made things more inconvenient.

• Ted Thompson: "We liked what we saw with Cedric."

• Mike McCarthy: Playing time important for QB Graham Harrell.

• T.J. Lang's big accomplishment.

• The McCarren Report: Old-time football.
