Salute to the Packers — 1962

We are going to feature the 1962 Commemorative Issue of “Salute to the Packers” for the near future here on the Packerville blog, and with limited time today we’re going to just put up a few initial scans. This publication was an “alternate” yearbook-type magazine that was produced from 1961-1968. The 1962 issue came out after the 1962 season, so it was not a “preview”-type deal like the yearbooks always have been. On the front cover (slightly marred), we see fullback Jim Taylor running after taking the handoff from quarterback Bart Starr.

The intro page presents a “Tribute to Packer Fans Everywhere.” Of course, we all know Packer fans are the greatest fans of any sport in the world.

We’ll end this blog entry with a fine portrait shot of head coach and general manager Vince Lombardi. We hope you’ll enjoy this look back to the early Sixties as we go along.
